Download YouTube on Android (Chrome)
You do not need a random “YouTube downloader APK” for this workflow. Copy the link from the official YouTube (or YouTube Music) app, paste it in Chrome on this site, then save the prepared MP4 or MP3 to Downloads.
Steps (YouTube app → Chrome)
- Open the video, Short, or Music track in the official app.
- Tap Share → Copy link.
- Open Chrome and go to YT Video Downloader (or a specialist tool below).
- Paste the link, confirm the preview, choose MP4 or MP3.
- When the file is ready, download it. Check Chrome’s Downloads icon or the system Files / Downloads app.
Which page to open on Android
- Homepage hub — any public link, still choosing format.
- MP4 tool — need video quality options.
- MP3 tool — audio only.
- Shorts tool —
/shorts/links. - Music tool — Music app shares.
Common Android snags
- Paste fails: long-press the URL field → Paste. Allow clipboard access if Android asks.
- Can’t find the file: Chrome menu → Downloads, or open Files → Downloads. Some OEMs rename the folder.
- App steals the link: copy first, then open this site from Chrome (typed URL or bookmark) instead of following an in-app browser tab that bounces back to YouTube.
- Download fails after preview: try 720p/480p, or see downloader not working.
iPhone and desktop
On iPhone, use the Safari guide. On a computer, see MP4 steps or MP3 steps.
FAQ
Do I need a third-party YouTube downloader APK?
No. Copy the link from the official YouTube or YouTube Music app, paste it in Chrome on this site, then save the prepared file to Downloads. Avoid unknown APKs that ask for broad device permissions.
Where does the file go on Android?
Usually Chrome → Downloads, or the system Downloads / Files app. Some phones also show a notification when the save finishes.
Paste does not work in Chrome
Long-press the URL field and choose Paste. Copy again with Share → Copy link from YouTube if the clipboard is empty. Allow clipboard access if Android asks.
